| PSION Tips |
These are tips that were discussed during meetings: (SIBO=older PSIONs like the Seires 3/3a/3c/3mx and Siena) Find feature in Agenda (SIBO and EPOC) Cent symbol in Sheet (EPOC) A full text find in Contacts (EPOC5) Find feature in Agenda To access find: SIBO, Menu > Special > Search > Find EPOC, Menu > Edit > Find From there (on both SIBO and EPOC) you can find items in Agenda that contain certain text. As well, you can find items over a certain range of dates by entering the start and/or end dates, whether to list enties more than once (if it's a repeating entry), if you want to list crossed out items, and if you want to limit the Entry Symbols listed. [ Top of page ] Cent symbol in Sheet (EPOC) There's no way to call up the list of special characters in Sheet, so open up Word, call up the list of special characters with Menu > Insert > Special Character (or Ctrl+Shift+c), look up the special character, and then note the key sequence you have to type at the bottom of the window. For this example the Cent symbol is Ctrl+162 (hold down Ctrl key while typing out the numbers 162). Go back to sheet, place the cursor where you want the symbol to appear, and then hold down the Ctrl key and type 162; upon letting go of the Ctrl key the cent symbol will appear. [ Top of page ] A full text find in Contacts (EPOC5) The main Find function in Contacts only searches for text in the name category of the listings, so what if you have a phone number and you want to look up the name of the person who owns it? Well, Contacts has a secondary find feature called Find in all text. With Contacts open, click on Menu > Edit > Find in all text. From there you just enter the text you want to look for, and it will search all fields including address, phone, email, etc. [ Top of page ] |
